Looking for work in Berlin? Have you thought about looking for jobs in other parts of Germany?

The pandemic has forever changed the way we work. While some jobs will still require an onsite presence, many companies have shifted to a fully remote or hybrid work model. Even when my company re-opened the office this past autumn, most chose to continue working from home. Whenever I visited the office, it was often totally empty as people are happy and comfortable working from home.

So what does that mean for your Berlin job search? If you have a job that can be done remotely, you can actually expand your job search to all of Germany! You can easily work for a company based in Frankfurt, Hamburg, or Munich while living your dream life in Berlin, taking occasional trips for big meetings or team events.

Expanding your job search to companies outside of Berlin only widens your pool of potential employment opportunities. Frankfurt has a lot of finance roles for example, while Southern Germany has plenty of jobs relating to the automobile sector or at research facilities.

So as you continue your search, don't hesitate to apply for positions in other German cities. For even more information on how to find a job in Berlin, be sure to browse our FREE working in Berlin guides.
